The Norwich Office, leads their Best Value Partnership with Norfolk County Council's Planning and Transportation Department, and also carries out work for other clients. Disciplines include transportation planning, highways, bridges, traffic engineering and waste management.
My Client now requires a ‘Senior Highways Technician' to support their growing and diverse highways design business.
The Role:
The role will offer the excitement and challenge of working with the many and varied aspects of highways design.
Duties to include:
•Design and management of multiple highways design projects
•Supervision of junior staff
•Carry out site surveys and data searches
•Apply UK highways design standards
•Produce CAD designs
•Produce specifications
•Attend internal project meetings
The Person:
Essential requirements:
•ONC in Civil Engineering or equivalent
•2 years experience in using highways design codes
•A working knowledge of Word, Excel and ACAD
•Team Player
•Effective in both verbal and written communication
•Professional, courteous and motivated
Desirable criteria:
•HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent
•4 years experience in highway design using UK codes
•Previous team supervision/leading experience
•Previous CAD experience
•Experience of UK codes including the use of DMRB (Design Manual for Roads and Bridges)
•Previous experience of the design of various highways schemes
